Workshops for Music Students

A unique approach to improvisation. How to break out of auto-pilot-playing? In this workshop we’ll go over a series of exercises that will force everyone to listen before playing anything. We’ll try to get every student on stage to try out these exercises. A great experience for both instrumentalists and vocalists.

Besides concerts and performances the Philippe Lemm Trio also teaches workshops and masterclasses all over the world. Over the last 5 years the trio developed a unique approach to rhythm section playing, exploring new ways to open up improvisation and inspiring students to search for new ways of playing with each other.

TESTIMONIALS

"The Philippe Lemm trio engaged the students at the RNCM Masterclass with valuable, insightful and thought provoking collaborative musical performances"
Royal Norther College of Music, Manchester, UK

"It was great to have Philippe Lemm and his trio at our conservatory to give a workshop for our students.
They had a very clear and transparent way of conveying the concepts they use to make their trio work. Interaction, joy, and artistry all came wonderfully to the fore.
Students were inspired and they were happy to see them later in action at a venue in Ghent, illustrating everything they had taught earlier in the masterclass.
It was a positive experience and we hope to welcome them back in the future!"
Toon van Dionant, Conservatorium Ghent

"Unique "Jazz-in-the-Classroom" approach.......Very inspiring!"
